Obituary of Mike FEECHUK

MIKE FEECHUK 1920-2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Feechuk announces his passing, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Maples Personal Care Home. He was 89 years of age. Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years Mary; daughters Nancy Feniuk (Tony), Pearl Danford (Donald) and son Michael (Rhona). He had four wonderful grandchildren Kevin, Michael, Kate, Ava and one great grandson Lindon: brothers-in-law Mike (Hilda) Ledarney of AB, Clarence Lange of Emerson and sister-in-law Eileen Feechuk of BC and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Paraska and Wasyl Feechuk of Tolstoi and all of his siblings. Mike was employed by Modern Dairies and worked in Winnipeg, Tolstoi and Grunthal. Mike was also employed as Chief Engineer at the Bank of Canada and later at Revenue Canada. He held this last position until his retirement. Mike was a life-long member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Community. The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for all their compassionate care. Prayers will be held on Friday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main Street with Father Gregory Mielnik as Officiant. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. Pallbearers will be Michael Feechuk, Kevin Feniuk, Donald Danford, Bill Kosowan, Myron Probizansky and Bill Korozsi. Flowers gratefully declined.
