Obituary of Alice KIRKPATRICK
Alice Marie Kirkpatrick
(nee Furnival)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Alice passed away peacefully, in the wee hours of Monday morning on May 18, 2009 at the Grace Hospice where she had resided for the past 7 weeks. She is survived by her 8 children Ron of Burnaby, BC, Maureen McDougall (Dave) of Calgary, AB, Gary (Mary), Bob (Georgie), Colleen Glockner (Peter), David (Karen), Lynne Willcock, and Randy (Kathy) as well as her 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grand children. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack), her parents Thomas and Elizabeth Furnival, brother Gerard Furnival and wife Kay, grandson Kevin McDougall, and nephews Drew and Allan Furnival.
Born June 11, 1920, Alice lived her whole life in Winnipeg where she was employed by both Simpson Sears and Laura Secord respectively.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the staff at the Grace Hospice for all the loving and compassionate care, and to the Victoria General Hospital and Lindenwood Manor for their support.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 22 at Blessed John XXIII Parish, 3390 Portage Ave at 11:00 a.m. Monsignor Maurice Comeault, P.H., will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5.
