Juliana ANTHONY

Obituary of Juliana ANTHONY

JULIANA ANTHONY January 9, 1926 - October 25, 2008 On October 25, 2008 10:30AM, Juliana Anthony passed away peacefully after an arduous battle against cancer. She was a precious mother, compassionate grandmother, playful great-grandmother, devoted friend, talented dressmaker and wonderful cook. Everyone lucky enough to have known Juliana was inspired by her humility, patience and unconditional love, regardless of the situation. Left to mourn her loss are her nine children: Maurita, Juancho, Nora, Emerinciana, Virginia, Alberto, Lolita, Heminiano and Elena, 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Juliana was born in Santa Rosa, Philippines where she was raised by her eldest sister, having lost her parents at the age of nine. With her predeceased husband, Basilio, she raised her children in Laguna, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1978 where she worked tirelessly to support her family back home. We are thankful for the hard work and moral support from her doctors (Dr. Patel, Dr. Wong and Dr. Garcia), the Palliative care nurses (Alma, Florence, Brenda and Darlene) and St. Boniface Hospital staff; as well as her home care support workers (Janet, Debbie and Nessie). Special acknowledgement to her daughter Virginia Anthony who devoted all her time, energy, and loving care right up until Juliana took her last breath. To our beloved nanay and lola, as we cherish our memories of you, rest in peace knowing that you will always be in our hearts. As an angel of God, you will be guided to heaven where you are enveloped by His love and free from any more suffering. The lamay will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 1 (6-12pm, with a prayer service at 7pm) and Sunday, November 2nd (6-12pm). The funeral mass will be held at St. Edward's Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 4 10:30AM, followed by entombment at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
