Obituary of Sally BOLAND
SALLY BOLAND (nee YURKIEW)
January 4, 1918 - March 12, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom into the loving arms of the Lord.
She is survived by her son David (Pat), daughter Elsa Sydorko(Steve), grandchildren all of British Columbia, Jeffrey, Pamela, Nathan, great grandchild Zachary, brothers Micheal and Fred Yurkiew , nieces and a nephew. Mom was predeceased by her husband Richard, sister Anne - brothers Bill, John and Peter.
Mom loved to cook, sew, crochet and spoil her grandchildren with homemade goodies. When they moved to B.C. Mom missed them terribly. In earlier years she enjoyed picking wild berries. Jam and jellies were done to perfection, most of which she gave away to friends and relatives.
Mom was a very giving person, loved to travel, and was extremely proud of her Ukrainian Heritage. Mom was active in the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League St. Paul Branch for many years.
Prayers will be said Friday, March 18, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, March 19, 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion St.
Thank you to the Holy Family Home for your loving kindness and compassion in the care of our Mother. Flowers gratefully declined, if so wished donations may be made in Sally's memory to the Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave. Wpg. R2W 1T9
"Mother and Daughter Hearts Intertwined I was her Child. Then she was mine. My hand in her hand, then her hand in mine. Daughter and Mother Hearts Intertwined." Love Elsa.
