Obituary of Eileen Cadzow

Eileen (Bonnie) Cadzow (nee Boniface) November 16, 1927 - April 21, 2011 Bonnie peacefully passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 83. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by George, her husband of 59 plus years, as well as her daughter Karen (Brian), son Brian, and grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle. Also left to cherish Bonnie's memory are her brother-in law, Chris, her sister-in-law Pat (John), as well as her nieces, nephews, several cousins, and friends affectionately known as "the gang." Bonnie was predeceased by her mother, Kathleen, her father, Fred, and her sister-in-law, Sunny. Bonnie was born and raised in Winnipeg where she attended Lord Selkirk, General Wolfe, and Daniel McIntyre schools. She furthered her education at Success Business College where she completed a bookkeeping course. She worked at Eaton's part-time until she obtained a full-time position at Willson Stationery Company as a bookkeeping machine operator. She worked with the company for ten years. Bonnie and George met while they were employed with Willson Stationery. They were happily married on July 21, 1951. Bonnie enjoyed solving the Free Press "Jumble" and crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader of mystery novels, mainly those written by Agatha Christie. She loved birds, and while Karen and Brian were growing up, the family had a few budgies named Mickey or Charlie. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Steven Mink at the Health Sciences Centre for his exceptional care and support over the past 25 years. Also, thank you to Dr. Mink's receptionist, Tina, for her friendliness and kindness. Respecting Bonnie's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Bonnie's memory to the Lung Association Manitoba, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. R3A 1P6, 774-5501. Another day has come again, As time moves surely on- But nothing now seems quite the same, To know that you are gone. The days and weeks and months ahead Will never be the same- Because a treasure beyond words Can never be replaced. We will miss you always. After awhile crocodile.
