Obituary of Anne CYMBALISTY
ANNE CYMBALISTY
August 8, 1904 - June 9, 2009
Suddenly on June 9, 2009 Anne Cymbalisty, aged 104 plus years passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughters Helen Safiniuk and Marie Kellas and son Steve and wife Joan.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Emil in 1995 and her grandchild Eileen De Sousa.
Anne was born in Bowshiw, Poland where she met and married Emil. They were married on February 19, 1924. Their two daughters were born in Poland. In 1927 her husband Emil immigrated to Canada and she followed 10 years later in 1937. Son Steve was born in Canada. Anne and her husband settled and farmed in the Old Kildonan and West St. Paul areas until 1993 when failing health necessitated relocation to Holy Family Nursing Home, where she resided until her death.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Holy Family - Anne-Marie, Biba, Maria and many many more who cared for mom during the 16 years she resided there. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. June 14 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
