Obituary of Winifred Gifford
WINIFRED ALICE GIFFORD
Winifred Alice Gifford passed away at St. Joseph's Residence on January 9, 2009 at the age of 91.
She was predeceased by her husband William Douglas Gifford (March 17, 1995) and her son Arthur Douglas Gifford (February 11, 2007).
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Bruce Gifford (Donna), her sister Grace Duvall, her brother George Gerrard, her daughter-in-law Barbara Gifford, grandchildren Michael (Genevieve), Cameron (Ruth), Marlene, Holly, and Sean (Tammy), as well as great grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Alyshia, Hayden and Delaney.
Winifred was an avid lawn bowling enthusiast at St. John's Lawn Bowling Club, a longtime member of Bleak House Center and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the West Kildonan Legion. Winifred was born, grew up and lived her whole life in West Kildonan.
Many thanks to all of the friends and relatives who cared for Winnifred in her later years with special thanks to Shirley and John Gifford and Doreen Hayward. Also many thanks to all the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for the care provided to her.
Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Residence, 1149 Leila Avenue, Winnipeg.
