Obituary of Helen Jasysyn

Helen Jasysyn (nee Swystun) April 24,1924-March 31, 2009 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt on March 31, 2009, at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 84. Mom left to be with her heavenly family. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, her children Richard, Louise, Darlene, Leonard and her parents, also three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her children Marge (Steve), David (Lizzie), Melvin (Rowena), Ken, Lorraine (Jim), daughter-in-law Kitty, son-in-law Robert. Mom is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Mom was taken care of for many years before passing away by her son Ken. The family greatly appreciated this. We all "thank you Ken". Mom was born in Oakbank, MB and married our dad, Andrew, in 1942. They moved to Winnipeg and began their family. They raised nine children. Mom put her heart into everything she did which included being a wife, mother, expert perogy maker, buyer, negotiator, banker, counselor, manager, seamstress, cook, baker and much more. She was a very busy mom. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the nursing staff on the 5TH floor-Unit 1 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care for our Mother. A private family service has taken place. Prayers were held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, April 3, 2009, followed by Divine Liturgy celebrated on April 4, 2009 at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rev. Fr. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R officiating. Interment took place at All Saint's Cemetery. We love you mama, We will love you forever. Vichnaya Pam'yat
