On January 30, 2010 at home, Joseph Louis LaRosa (Ross) beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away peacefully, at the age of 85 years old.
Joseph is survived by his wife and soul mate Doris (nee Martin), his daughter Ellie, son Dominic and wife, Lisa. He will be missed by the apples of his eye, grandchildren Dominique Vinet, J. Brendan and Jordan LaRosa. He is also survived by step son Rob Corbett, of Calgary, and his family.

He is predeceased by his father Dominic LaRosa, mother Antoinette LaRosa and brother Marshall Lee Ross. He was met at the Rainbow Bridge by his beloved dog, Pierre (Pete).
Joseph was born on December 26, 1924. Upon graduation from St. John's High School, he enlisted in the Navy. He served on several corvettes during WWII and had many stories to share from those days. After returning home from the war he started an apprenticeship as a tinsmith. Joe began his career as a journeyman tinsmith and was involved with many of the major building projects in the city. Later in his career, he worked at Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1988. Dad spent a big part of retirement watching his grandson's playing hockey in the winter, playing seniors baseball and lounging at his summer getaway in St. Malo with mom and his sidekick Pierre. Ellie and Dominique lived near by and spent a lot of time with dad, they gave him joy, companionship and care in these last few years when his health required him to need assistance. He took great joy spending time with his daughter and watching his grand daughter grow up.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks hospital and homecare workers for their care and kindness they gave to dad.
