Aline was born in St-Pierre on July 1st, 1928, the eighth of twelve children. Following the passing of her mother, she took on, from the tender age of 16, a large part of the family's household duties. On June 18th, 1949, she married Martial Lavergne, also from St-Pierre. They resided in Sprague, St-Pierre, and finally in Winnipeg. Aline cared for her family with unparalleled devotion. Her family was the center of her life, her raison d'tre. There was no greater joy for her than to be surrounded by her loved ones and indulge them with her generous hospitality. In the community, Aline sang in the Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens and Saint-Eugne Church choirs. She also worked as a teacher's assistant for a dozen years.
