Obituary of Peter MANKO
PETER MANKO
Surrounded by his loving family, Peter passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on February 18, 2011, at the age of 93 years.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Anne, his daughters Marlyne (Heinz), Dianne (Mel), four grandchildren, Kim (Dave), Michael (Shannon), Jason (Melanie), Jaret (Kerri), and six great grandchildren, Carter, Connor, Ryan, Makayla, Hanna, and Noah.
Peter was predeceased by his mother, father, and stepmother, a brother and 2 sisters, 5 stepsisters and 2 stepbrothers. Peter is also survived by his sister Polly and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Peter was born on August 8, 1917 in Medika, Manitoba. He came to Winnipeg where he met Anne and they were married on April 12, 1942. Peter worked for Oglivie Flour Mills, from which he retired in 1982.
His family meant everything to him and he meant everything to his family.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family is very grateful to the staff of River East WRHA for their care and compassion over the last several years. Also thank you to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, Level 3, U6 for making dads last days comfortable.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Garden Cemetery.
