Obituary of Julie MAYER
JULIE MAYER
(1921 - 2010)
On Sunday, November 28, Julie Mayer died peacefully at Concordia General Hospital. She had lived her whole life in the house she was born in, and until last year, shared it with her sister Marion, who predeceased her in 2009.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Caroline Mayer, sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth Reichardt (Carl), Caroline Huhn (Anthony), Magdalena Toth (Martin), (Jack Dundas) and brother and sister-in-law: Michael Mayer (Helen).
She leaves to mourn, her sister Anne Dundas, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Julie worked for many years at Eaton's Mail Order in Winnipeg, and spent the last several years caring for her ailing sister Marion. Julie was a woman of beauty, style and independence, and fiercely cherished her privacy. She was a woman of faith and a long-standing and faithful member of St. Alphonsus Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Prayers will be held on Friday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier.
