Obituary of George MOTUZ

George Metro Motuz 1931 - 2009 George passed away at Grace Hospital on December 2nd, 2009 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by his parents John and Justina Motuz, three brothers Joseph, Steve and Andrew; also two sisters Annie Sapischuk and Pauline Fiwchuk. He will be remembered by his sister Mary Kindred and brother Bill Motuz as well as five nieces, five nephews, seven great-nieces, five great-nephews, two great-great nieces and one great-great nephew. George was born in Mountain Road, Manitoba on January 30th, l931. He attended Mountain Road School until Grade 8, then St. Joseph's School in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. At age 16 he worked temporarily in Winnipeg and Windsor, Ontario prior to enlisting in the Army at age 18. He remained in the Army for five years until he was discharged due to injury. Upon recovery he returned to Winnipeg and worked for the Department of Agriculture until his retirement. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 11th, 2009 at 10:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery.
