Obituary of Norman OLSON
NORMAN (CRICKET) JAMES OLSON
On October 14, 2009, Norman (Cricket) James Olson, 76, passed into the spirit world peacefully. He was visited by many of his children for his remaining moments.
Norman was predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Rosalie Olson, first wife Florence, brothers Walter, Orton, Edgar, Gordon, sister Diane, Norma's mother Grace.
He is survived by his eldest sister Eva and wife Bertha. Norman is also survived by all his children; sons Carl, Rudy (Jayne), Remi (Amanda), Harvey (Mary-Lou), Lorne (Larry), Barry (Cheryl), Murray (Ally)and Waylan, and, his daughters Carlyle (Ron), Solvia (Steve), Betty (Ronnie), Connie (Calvin) Fern, Norma (Waylon), Stephanie, Sandra, Elena, Rita (Howard), and Julianne (Thomas). Norman also has 47 healthy grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren to continue life.
He was very proud of all his children and the lives they created for themselves. He often spoke of his community and was proud to be a part of it. His favourite sayings were "I love you all equally'", "I'm behind you 100%", and "keep up the good work!" Despite his shortcomings he managed to pass on some of life's grandest lessons to all his children such as survival, introspection, forgiveness and an unwavering belief in God the Creator.
Visitation and Prayers will be held on Tuesday, October 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Chapel. Interment at Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Anglican Church Cemetery.
