Obituary of Iria Pacheco
IRIA PACHECO
It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Iria Pacheco on May 5, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 84.
Iria is survived by her husband of 61 years, Manuel; daughters Maria Simao, Dulcina Tavares, Silvina Frias, Carminda (Liberto) Cabral, Nelia (Joe) Cabral; son Jo�o (Alda); 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; sisters Carminda De Silva, Leonilde Gravito and Zelia (Manuel) Cipriano.
She was predeceased by her brother Manuel De Silva; sons-in-law Emanuel Tavares and Manuel Frias.
Iria was born in San Miguel, Azores, Portugal and came to Canada in 1968. she worked at the Health Sciences Centre for 26 years until retirement. Iria loved her family. For relaxation, Iria enjoyed crocheting.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU and 5tht floor at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Iria's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association.
