Obituary of Imre PAMMER
IMRE (JIM) PAMMER
Peacefully on September 12, 2008, Imre (Jim) Pammer our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away after a lengthy and courageous struggle with Parkinson's disease.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Teresa, son-in-law John, and most treasured grand daughter Madeline, sisters Emi in Austria, Tercsi and Marti (Pista) in Hungary, brother Erno (Maria) in Winnipeg, sister-in-law Veronika in Arborg and numerous nieces and nephews both in Canada and Europe. Predeceased by his beloved wife Maria, his parents in Hungary, sister Cili and brothers Rudy and Mike.
Born in Gutor July 16, 1929, he left Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 to start a better life in Canada with his two brothers Mike and Erno. He came to Canada as a professional painter and started his company that continued for more than 40 years. He met and married his wife Maria and they enjoyed many loving years together. They had one daughter, Teresa, who was the light of his life. Years later, he was blessed with his grand daughter Madeline, who was his pride and joy. He will be remembered by all as a loving family man, friend and a well-respected businessman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch Home (D2) for the care and comfort they provided Jim for the last number of months, and to his homecare staff Irene, Eve, and Leslie, who Jim appreciated immensely. They gave exceptional care to Jim while he was still at home with his family. Your loving and gentle care will always be remembered.
Prayers will be said on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian (RC) Church, 365 Burnell St., Winnipeg, MB. Rev. Father Stan Gacek as Celebrant. Private family interment to follow at a later date. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.
