Obituary of Ruby Pankiw (STEFANIW)
RUBY JAROSLAVIA PANKIW (STEFANIW)
Just as the Lord had giveth onto Ruby the bounty and glories of life, He has now taken Ruby to rest in His heavenly arms on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Kildonan Personal Care Home.
Ruby was born in Winnipeg on January 25, 1920, the fifth of six children to Anna Orlanski and John Stefaniw. She was predeceased by her husband John on September 6, 2004 and son Dennis in April 1999.
She leaves behind three surviving sons, Terry (Cynthia), Myron (Sue) and Mark (Shelley), also grandchildren, Chelsey, Clayton , Karen, Jayne, Kaitlyn, Lindsey and Ashley. She will also be missed by John's family, Zana, Teras and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruby married John in 1941 and took great pride in creating a home of welcoming warmth and hospitality. Her greatest love was for her family and concern for their well being.
Mother began her education at the St. Nicholas School where she was inculcated with a devotion to a lifetime of service both in the Holy Eucharist Church Ladies Auxiliary and the Holy Family Nursing Home Auxiliary.
Our mother was a gracious lady enhanced by her dignity and elegance. Her gentle loving ways enriched our lives and held us together, which will remain forever in our hearts
Our mother was a great hostess especially at our home in Florida, where family gathered to celebrate at any excuse.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe Ave. & Watt St. with Rev. Dr. Michael Kwiatkowski officiating. Lunch will follow in the Church Auditorium.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Dennis Pankiw Memorial Foundation at Red River College.
Goodbye my family. This life for me is truly past I've loved you all to the very last Weep for me, but courage take And love one another for my sake. -Mom
