ADAM EDWARD POPP
It is with sad hearts we say goodbye to our husband, father and grandfather Adam, who departed this life at the age of 84 on Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carolyn (Maruda) of 58 years; his children Caren Sych (Brian), Barry Popp (Tracy), Cheryl Mucz (Dave) of Calgary, Michael Popp (Kim) of Calgary; his 8 grandchildren Kristen (Steven), Brandon, Drew, Teagan, Haley, Carlee, Rachel and Samantha; his sister Jennie Vizniak; his brother-in-law Tony Maruda, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Adam was predeceased by his parents Michael and Clara; siblings Charlie, John, William, Theodore, Victoria, Elizabeth and Wanda; brother-in-law Mike Vizniak; in-laws Antonin and Agnes Maruda.
Adam was born and raised in Rossdale, Manitoba. He worked trucking for the Winnipeg Tribune for 28 years until it closed. Adam had a passion for farming and has been pursuing that passion since 1980. His hobbies included buying and fixing tractors, building wooden farm toys and collecting farm hats. Adam's favourite pastime was driving his yearly new red Chevy/GM trucks and visiting farm machinery and truck dealerships.
The family wishes to thank St. Boniface Hospital doctors and nursing staff and homecare for their compassion and caring during Adam's illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 5819 Henderson Hwy. with Rev. Jerry Talarski, O.M.I. officiating. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
