Obituary of Jerzy Sadkowski

JERZY SADKOWSKI It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Jerzy on January 6, 2011 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Jerzy passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Jerzy is predeceased by his wife Anna Wanda (2007), and his parents Marian and Maria. Jerzy is survived by his son Wes (Florence); sister Danuta (Terry) Ferraro and their children Maria, Annette (Chris), and Robert (Niamh)and sons Ben, Jack; sister Krystyna (Tony) Ferraro and their children Marla (Stephan) and son Matthew, Melissa, and Miranda (Greg); sister Marysia (Leszek) Hamera and their children Piotr and Malgosia (Czarek) and daughter Celine in Poland. He is survived by his brother-in-law Henryk (Jadwiga) Kwiecinski and their children Julia (Adam), Michal. Jerzy was born on August 25, 1936 in Nowa Wies, Poland. Jerzy married Anna Wanda in 1960 and they immigrated to Winnipeg in 1977 with son Wes. Jerzy was a jack of all trades, both at work and at home. After many years of hard work, Jerzy was happy to retire in 2001. Jerzy especially loved visiting and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed good jokes and card games with friends. Jerzy also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time at his campsite in Pinawa. Jerzy shared a love of the outdoors with his son Wes, and the two could often be found working together on projects and repairs at Wes's place or at the lake. Jerzy will be greatly missed as a loving father, brother, brother-in-law, Wujek, and Dziadzia. Jerzy will always be fondly remembered for his kind heart, fun loving spirit, and heart warming smile. The family would like to thank Dr. Bialy, and the staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
