Obituary of Lorrie SHWALUK
LORRIE SHWALUK
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother on June 19, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 66 after a lengthy illness.
Lorrie is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter Kim and son Terry, two grandchildren Ashly and Evan, sister Shirley (Wally and Brian) and her companion John.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Michael, as well as her sister Jeannie.
Lorrie was born on February 23, 1943 in Oakburn, MB and grew up with a strong Ukrainian heritage. She enjoyed watching her granddaughter's soccer games, going to the beach, fishing, listening to Ukrainian music and loved animals, especially her two cats that will miss her greatly.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Women's Hospital (WR5), and the S.I.C.U. at the Health Sciences Centre.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorrie's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Lorrie
