Obituary of Stephanie SIDORCHUK
STEPHANIE SIDORCHUK
November 25, 1919 - August 12, 2008
Passing peacefully into the arms of the Lord, at age 88, in Seven Oaks Hospital, Stephanie leaves behind her loving daughter Lorraine and son-in-law Chuck. She will be greatly missed by her devoted sisters, Ann Krutiak, Tena Chornley, and June Stadnyk and also brother Tony. Their loss is shared by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Stephanie was born in Winnipeg, attended Lord Nelson School and lived her entire life in the North End. She was predeceased by her father, Paul in 1942, her mother, Helene in 1954, and husband Norman of 59 years, in 2002.
Bringing joy to all around her, she will be remembered as caring, generous, and good natured. Her life was rich with the love of family and many good friends.
Stephanie was a very active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League, first joining in 1949. She was President of her branch in 1953 and was honored with a 50 year pin while a member of the St. Joseph's League.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Very Rev. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Stephanie's memory to the St. Joseph's Van Committee or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.
