I'm so sorry that I couldn't make it. The government here seems content to just jerk me around, even though they -know- why I'm trying to get back to Winnipeg. I really wish that I could be there with you guys right now, and am doing my best to get there as soon as possible. Love, Joe

My sincere sympathies on Louise's passing. She left me a message just last week on my machine to say she was unable to attend a dinner. I knew Louise from St A many yrs ago. I did not know her well as we were usually opposite shifts, but what I did know about her was she was a reliable, caring and hard working individual. She cared deeply about her clients and wanted what was best for them and strove to meet their needs. I also marvelled at her energy as she walked back and forth to shift on a routine basis. She put most of us to shame. Sometime after her retirement she answered an ad I had placed for WBGC and as we spoke on the phone something was said and we went "do we know each other?" We certainly did not expect to find someone we knew on the other end of the phone and we shared a good laugh! We were fortunate to have Louise join our WBGC team and she was a great asset in dealing with the youth as well as the fundraisers we took part in. Today when the seasoned nurses talk about "the good old days" as people tend to do and the many wonderful staff we worked with over 25-30 yrs. Louise's name always comes up. She will be remembered for her kindness and caring and the gift she gave of herself to all her charges and fellow staff. God Bless!
