Obituary of Anne Storochuk
ANNE STOROCHUK
Peacefully, on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Misericordia Place, our beloved mother and grandmother Mrs. Anne Storochuk of Winnipeg, age 99 years.
Anne was born in Ridgeville, Manitoba and had been a resident of Winnipeg since 1947. A devoted wife and mother who dedicated many years to volunteering for the Red Cross, Community Way (United Way) and her church. Anne was known for her friendly smile and her willingness to lend a hand to anyone.
Anne is survived by daughter Ruth and son-in-law Walter Hnylycia, daughter Gwen and son-in-law Dave Smriga, grandchildren Sheryl (Dale) McMullen, Daryl (Dorothy) Hnylycia, Colleen (Jay) Hnylycia and Matthew Smriga, great-grandchildren Owen, Danny, Sara and Megan, sister Mary Wishnicki and sister-in-law Hazel Hoplock.
Anne was predeceased by her husband William Storochuk, parents Peter and Hafia Hoplock, brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Rose Hoplock, Jack and Marge Hoplock, Steve and Jean Hoplock, Mike and Marge Hoplock, Alex and Louise Hoplock and Henry Hoplock.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Anne's memory may be made to a charity of their choice.
