Obituary of Witold Szych

WITOLD SZYCH July 15, 1924 - March 9, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Witold Szych, who passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Sadly missed by his wife Leokadia; sons Henry (Betty), John; daughter Krystyna (Rick Bell); granddaughter Patricia (Jason Paterson) and relatives in Poland. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Stanislawa and sister Helena. Witold came to Canada in 1950 and was followed by his wife and son in 1951. Dad worked at Subterranean Construction for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed blueberry and mushroom picking, time at Granite Lake and his backyard swing. He especially enjoyed time with his family. We loved his famous Sunday barbeques. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Middlechurch Home for their care and support. Prayers will be said on Friday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
