Obituary of Paul TUTKALUK
PAUL GREGORY TUTKALUK
Paul Gregory Tutkaluk passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, January 24, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dolores (Dolly), sons Theodore and Terrence, sister Kym Antsanen (Modest), mother-in-law Julia Omeniuk, bothers-in-law, James (Florence), Harold (Donna), Kenneth (Ellen), Robert (Liz) Omeniuk, sisters-in-law, Joyce Sokoloski, Betty (Don) Gnutel, Janice Sutton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother Estelle Tutkaluk, father Ted Tutkaluk (Toronto) and father-in-law Michael Omeniuk, sister-in-law Violet Hnatiuk, brothers-in-law Joe Hnatiuk, Joe Sokoloski and Joe Sutton.
Paul, as he was known to friends, was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg's North End. Following a career with the government he continued work with land acquisitions in the private sector until retirement.
Gregory, as he was known to family, was a family man who took great pride in his son's accomplishments. He rarely missed a hockey practice let alone a game.
His home in the country and cottage at the lake gave him great pleasure. Whether on the lawnmower or out on the boat, he was never without his Mr. T. hat.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with Very Rev. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Gregory's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church (Decoration Fund) would be greatly appreciated.
