On Sunday, September 3, 2017, Helen passed away at the age of 87.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2004 and is survived by her children, Thomas (Judy), Robert (Carole), Lynn (Don), Terry; grandchildren, Lisa, Karen, Lana, Tasha, Ryan; great-granddaughter Mia; brother Lawrence (Louise); brother-in-law Teddy; sisters-in-law, June, Mary and Lorraine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen was born and raised in Transcona, moving to East Kildonan and then to St. Vital.  She was an avid gardener, knitter and reader.  Helen had the ability to make friends wherever she went.

The family would like to thank home care for the last few years, without them Helen wouldn’t have been able to maintain an independent lifestyle.  The family would also like to thank the staff at Catherine Place, the paramedics and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their kind care of Helen.

Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 7:00 p.m.   Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m also at Cropo Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
