Obituary of SHAYNE CHRISTIAN SLADE

SHAYNE CHRISTIAN SLADE Its with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shayne Christian Slade at the of age 36 years, on November 26, 2019 in Grand Cache, AB. He is survived by his long-time sweetheart Susan Garrity of Manitoba, his parents; Samuel Slade of Newfoundland and Suzanne Lapointe in New Brunswick; his siblings, Trisha Slade, Manitoba, Amanda Slade (Joe), Manitoba and Ryan Slade (Terra), British Columbia and many nieces and nephews. Also, a large number of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his step father Erik Gruter of British Columbia and maternal and paternal grandparents; Ernest Lapointe of Ontario and Jeannine Flaro (nee Poirier) of Alberta, Myrtle (nee Trickett) and Warrick Slade of Salmon Cove, Newfoundland and Arthur and Mary (nee Livingston) Cantwell of Cornwall, Ontario. Shayne was adventurous, a vocalist, had participated in the MMA community, a talented artist, a writer, a regular attraction at comic con, an outdoors enthusiast, you- tuber, gamer and paint ball destroyer. He loved hockey, skating, music of most genres and had no fear. He was that off-road guy. He was an animated story teller; captivating all audiences with his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a friend to many and captured the hearts of those who knew him. Professionally, Shayne was a long serving Correctional Service Officer for the Province of Manitoba until Feb 23, 2019. After which he trained in Ontario, Canada from March 2019 thru to June 2019 to become a Federal Security Officer with Correctional Service Canada and then was stationed in Grand Cache, Alberta. He was a leader amongst his cohort, devoted to the safety and security of our country and will be fondly remembered by his coworkers and the community. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB, Sunday February 2nd at 1:00 pm. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to do so, a donation can be made in his memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
