Obituary of JUSTIN JAMES LEONARD KLAUSE

JUSTIN KLAUSE

March 19, 1980 – August 25, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Justin.

He is survived by his son Brody, his love Lorelei (Gage/Gunther), brother Darryl (Jen/Brianna), parents Jim and Darlene, and many other friends and relatives.

Justin was born in Transcona. He attended Westview School, John Gunn, Bernie Wolfe and graduated from Transcona Collegiate.

Justin was active in many sports, playing soccer at the early age of 5 until his mid-teens. He also bowled for many years for a youth bowling league. Justin was a member of the CN gym and could be found there almost daily pumping those weights.

Justin’s first job was delivering papers for the Winnipeg Free Press at the age of 13. He could be found at the corner of Kildare and Hoka at 6 a.m. waiting for his “side-kick” Gigi Bosko. He then moved on to bigger and better things; Turbo Gas Bar. Eventually he became an HVAC technician passing with honors, first in his class, and became employed with Furnasman.

Justin was a very competitive person who loved to do the “victory dance” after winning board games especially with his brother, Darryl. Whenever he was with his cousins, Kristen or Wesley you could be sure there was always something mischievous going on.

Justin met Lesley and they lived together for 9 years; in which time their son Brody was born. Justin was a wonderful father and was totally in love with his son. He enjoyed taking Brody on his first of many fishing expeditions at their trailer in Pinawa. Eventually Justin and Lesley parted and followed different paths.

Justin then met Lorelei, the absolute love of each other’s life. They were absolute soul mates. Justin finally found the perfect partner to share his life with.

The last few years however were very hard on Justin as he struggled with extreme anxiety and depression. Family members tried to give him the support he needed as our Mental Health System was of no help. In the end he just could not pull himself out of his depression. We all need to believe that he is now in arms of God and finally at peace with himself.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Justin’s favourite non-profit organization: Tails of Freedom Rescue Inc.

A celebration of life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel by invitation only due to Covid restrictions.
