SONIA DACIW

On September 24th, 2021  Sonia  passed away peacefully and will be greatly missed by her family.

She lived to be 98 years old and had many passions besides her family: curling, lawn bowling, the Blue Jays, travelling, casinos and camping when she was younger. She received great satisfaction from her teaching career that spanned over 4 decades which started in a one room schoolhouse in the Interlake and ended at St. George in St Vital. Over the years many of her former students would acknowledge that dedication.

She is survived by her 2 sons Bill and Barry, grandchildren Thomas (Jenna), Corinne (Paul). Michael, Kevin (Chelsey) and great grandchildren Evan, Sarah, Jessica, Kyla and Talyor. She was predeceased by her husband Metro, her parents Nicholas and Justina, her 4 sisters Mary, Anne, Olga, Irene, brother Peter, daughter-in-law Dana and many other family members.

We would like to thank the staff at River Park Care Home for their care and comfort especially through these difficult Covid times.
