Pasqualina was predeceased by her parents Salvatore Di Pippo and Loretta Viola; her siblings Carlo, Italo, Giuseppina, and Berardina (all of Italy); her grandson Marco Capolongo and her husband Palmerio Del Grosso (December 22, 2014).
Pasqualina was born on January 28, 1929 in Pescina L’Aquila, Italy. On January 20, 1952, she married the love of her life Palmerio Del Grosso. Palmerio immigrated to Canada in April 1957 and was then joined by Pasqualina and their daughters Giuseppina and Maria Grazia in August of that same year. In January of 1965 their son, Roberto was born.
Pasqualina had many loves in her life. She enjoyed to knit, loved to garden, and took many trips to Italy, Mexico, and the USA. There were also many fun times enjoyed at the Shooting Star Casino with her long time friend Palmina Cerasani. She also spent many summers at the cottage at Twin Lake Beaches. Pasqualina especially loved to cook. You could always find her in her kitchen making fresh pasta, pizza and bread and would host weekly Sunday lunches. Pasqualina lived for her family. She helped look after of and raise her grandchildren and always made sure her family was well taken care of.
Pasqualina lived a prosperous and joyful life. She was very well known and loved by many people in the Italian community here in Winnipeg. She has left a lasting impression and will be greatly missed by all those who have grown to know and love her, especially her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pasqualina’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Kidney Foundation.
