Louis Albert DeLaronde
November. 16, 1938 – January. 15, 2022
83 Years Old
A famous writer once said “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give”.
If that is true, then Louis Albert DeLaronde made a great life, he was the most giving person.
Louis Albert DeLaronde was born on November. 16, 1938 on Duck Bay Island, MB. He was the oldest child of George and Alice DeLaronde (Nee Mc Leod). They lived on Duck Bay Island from 1938 to 1946, and later moved to Duck Bay so he could attend Duck Bay School.
On May. 2, 1962 Louis Married Yvonne & on their 25th anniversary they got remarried in Duck Bay.
Louis had many jobs working as a Fisherman, Construction Worker, a Tower-Ranger in the Forestry and for 22 years he served as a Custodian in Duck Bay School.
Louis was an active member in the parish council, and the church community giving elders communion.
Louis was a great outdoorsman who liked working with his hands, he loved gardening, hunting, fishing, building, and farming. He also enjoyed shopping, play cards, story telling and on every Sunday he was in the church praying and singing. He admitted love and light through prayer.
In 2002, Louis moved to Winnipeg to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Louis had 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Louis was predeceased by his parents George and Alice DeLaronde, sisters Angela and Rita, brothers Emery, Alec, Clifford, and Harold, his grandson Joseph, and two granddaughters Mary and Amy. Louis is survived by his wife Yvonne, sister Jane, brother George, foster sister Florence, children Norman (Sally), Peter (Donna), Roger, Christine (Calvin), Beverly (Jeff), Jennifer (Kevin), Diane, and Susan (Albert), 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Louis was a remarkably thoughtful, hardworking, fun-loving person who always had chocolates for the children, stories for the adults, and a smile worth a thousand words.
Pallbearers for the services will be Kevin Johnson, Albert Spence, Lewis Delaronde, Desmond Delaronde, Eli Genaille & Charles Sinclair. Honourary Pallbearers are Calvin Ferland and Johnathan Charlette.
Public visitation will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main St. in Winnipeg on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm with prayers starting at 6pm. Evening prayers for the public will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Duck Bay, MB. on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 starting at 10:30am also at the church followed with interment at the church cemetery.
