Susan Bennet RWB dancer 1976-1987 As far as I know I was the first soloist to work one on one with Alla at the RWB. She arrived in the middle of my career and we worked together until my retirement. What a delight! She allowed me artistic freedom by the trust she gave and gently made suggestions that weighed of much experience and knowledge. There were photos of her in my childhood ballet books of the Bolshoi and we realized that I had the good fortune to have seen her dance “Raymonda” with the Bolshoi in Montreal when I was eleven years old! Small world! She went to many artistic performances in Winnipeg, music events and trips to the art gallery. She kept up with the news of the day. Alla was an exceptional person and an inspired artist who touched me deeply, and I will remember her for her quiet strength and grace. Susan
