Obituary of ELINOR ELIZABETH OSINSKI

ELINOR ELIZABETH OSINSKI

April 1, 1945 – June 26, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Elinor Osinski (Jackson). Elinor touched the lives of many and will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Elinor recently celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary with her husband Scott, her soulmate and best friend.

For those who were blessed to know Elinor, she was always proud to be mother to Ann-Marie (Trevor), Jeffrey (Michelle), and Kimberley (Michel) and grandmother to Christina, Tiff, Jasmine, and Tristan. Conversations often centred around the adventures and exploits of family, and always ended with, “When will I see you again?”

Elinor was predeceased by her parents William ‘Bill’ Jackson and Janet ‘Jean’ Jackson. She is survived by her sister Lorna Coley (Ron) and her nieces Janet, Christine, and Andrea.

Elinor was born on April 1, 1945 and grew up in the City of Transcona and at the family cottage on Nora Lake. In her youth, Elinor was adventurous and enjoyed swimming, fishing, rowing, and picking blueberries at the cottage. As a young adult Elinor chose nursing as her profession and graduated as a registered nurse from Grace Hospital. She later worked at St. Boniface Hospital in pediatrics. Elinor also enjoyed travelling, shopping trips to Grand Forks, and making regular donations at Club Regent. More recently, Elinor enjoyed a routine of coffee/bagel/eggs in the morning, sitting on her balcony reading in the afternoon, and watching her ‘shows’ in the evening. At all times she was never without access to her puzzle books, and an iPad which provided her with so much enjoyment and a connection to family and friends.

Elinor thoroughly enjoyed life and being in the presence of others. Although she had many medical concerns through the years she always rose and overcame the challenges thrown her way. We would like to thank the many medical professionals who helped Elinor improve her quality of life and gave her family more time with her.

Elinor’s love towards others has set an example for us to live by. You will be dearly missed and always in hearts.
