KAREN SUSANNE KIRSCH (NEE LOVBERG)

06/14/1948 – 02/23/2024

After a brief battle with cancer, Karen peacefully passed on February 23 at Riverview Health Centre with her family by her side.

Karen was predeceased by her parents Edward and Alice Lovberg and her in-laws Alec and Violet Kirsch, and now joins the love of her life, David, who left us in August of 1994.

Karen leaves behind, her two children; Greg (Nadine) and Carri (Tim), five grandchildren; Ryan (Michelle), Kennedy, Brett (Stefanie), Brooklyn and Kate.  Four great-grandchildren; Mason, Ayden, Hunter, and Vienna.  She also leaves her sister Carol, three sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Gramma Cookie’s greatest joy was spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.  Especially at the cottage at Ingolf, where they would play Rummikub and Uno, bake, read or tell them stories of yesteryear.

The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion, especially Dana, Jennifer, and Maureen with whom she developed a special bond during her stay.

As per Karen’s wishes, a private family interment will be performed with a celebration of life to be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Karen’s name to Riverview Health Centre, Cancer Care Manitoba or the Manitoba Arthritis Society can be made.
