Obituary of DONALD WILBERT TRUBA
Sadly, we announce the sudden passing of our Father, Father-in Law, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle Donald (Donnie) Wilbert Truba on February 29, 2024 at the age of 78.
Left to mourn his loss are his son Morley (Wife Crystal), grandson Braylon, sister Janet Lapka (Michael), nieces and nephews Tracy Bell, Cori Lapka (Rick), Ryan Lapka (Maria), Yvette Van Haga and Kelvin Laurin. Don was predeceased by his father William Truba, Mother Mary Krysko (Truba), Step-father Frank Krysko, brother Fred Truba, and sister Irene Laurin and brother-in-law Doug Laurin.
Don was born in the Prawda area and moved to Winnipeg as a young child. He went on to work in the Yukon as a mechanic for some time and then moved back to Manitoba to start his own trucking business for 47+ years, residing in Lockport, Manitoba. He loved to go for coffee and visit with his friends and family. He loved to tinker on things and was always fixing something. He was a very hard worker and passionate about his work. He shared this passion with his son Morley and taught him as much as he could about the business. He was a very proud grandpa as well and loved that his grandson was learning to operate heavy equipment at a young age. He was always willing to give a hand whenever anyone needed it.
One of his favorite sayings was “if I didn’t like ya, I wouldn’t be picking on ya!”
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow.
