Obituary of CHARLENE LORRAINE GUSBERTI

It is with great sadness that we announce on March 9^th,2024, Charlene Lorraine Gusberti passed away at the age of 70. She was surrounded by family and friends going peacefully as heaven gained another angel. Charlene unfortunately had battled with health issues for many years but was a fighter through and through. She was born May 6th,1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and will be lovingly remembered and incredibly missed by her sons Christopher Nicholas (Dina), DeeJay and; Daughter Desiree; Sisters Louise, Annette (Keith),Nikki, Carla (Adrian); brothers Gary (Susan), George (Rose), Greg (Marlo) and Glen (Sue), Nieces, Nephews and Grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Yolanda.

Charlene was a one-of-a-kind woman who was loved by so many for her sense of humour and her ability to bring a group together whether it be for girl’s night, a birthday party, soccer game or a trip to Celebrations for dinner and a show. She was the glue who made so much happen and was never afraid to speak up and use her voice (even at times when you may have wanted her to ) She had an intense love for her children and would never shy away from bragging about them to anyone and everyone who would listen; she was so proud of their achievements.

Charlene worked for many years as the Manager at the Montecasino Legion devoting her time and energy to steering the ship, organizing bingo by day and karaoke by night, she was an absolute people person; friendly and welcoming to all. Some of her favorite memories were watching her son and daughter play soccer. She would drive them from field to field around the city not missing a beat and could be heard in the crowd every time one of  them scored a goal! She would jokingly yell to the opposition “did that go in? I didn’t see if that went in “, but everyone loved her.

Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she had an amazing way of making it the most special time of year for everyone in her family. She would get into the Christmas spirit very early, enjoying putting up every single ornament one by one paired with a sentimental story about where it came from. She prided herself on having the most beautiful Christmas tree and it was rumoured that Her’s was the best decorated in the family. No one went without on Christmas day and her joy was most felt when watching her kids open their gifts, one by one as everyone watched.

Charlene, Mom, Sister, Grandma, Favorite Auntie Char, Mama Cool C, you will leave a void that can never be filled. Our hearts ache as we wish we had more time together, but we are filled with joy and laughter as we think back on the incredible moments and memories spent with you. You will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts. Rest easy now, We all love you so much!

There will be no memorial service as per Charlene’s wishes but please do continue to carry on her memory by sharing stories and celebrating how she touched so many lives.
