Obituary of RAYMOND GARY GRYCKO
RAYMOND GARY GRYCKO
1940-2024
Raymond passed away unexpectedly after a long battle with diabetes on March 1, 2024 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 83 years.
He was predeceased by his mother and father Anne and Dan Grycko, and his brother Murray (Carol) Greco, and sister Eileen (Ed) Savage.
He leaves his brother Parry (Deborah) Grycko; nieces Kim Schmidt and Aurora Grycko, and nephews Lyndon Greco, Kevin Greco, and Adam Grycko. Raymond is also remembered by his extended family the Kibsey's, the Tymchak's, and friends the Smith's.
Raymond was born in Winnipeg and raised on the family dairy farm located on Division Avenue near the city border with the RM of Rosser. Raymond remained and worked on the farm for much of his life where he cared for his mother following his father's passing. He ended his farming career producing grains and oilseeds.
Lovingly nicknamed "Jim" by many family members, Raymond leaves us with fond memories. These include good times with his siblings and extended family, games of pool at his farm, wrestling matches with nephews, breakfasts at Sal's, and shots of 5-Star whiskey. So long Jim.
Raymond's ashes will be scattered near his parents at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue, on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are all welcome to join the ceremony. For those attending, please meet at the cemetery gates. Raymond will have his name placed in Brookside Cemetery’s Book of Memories.
