IN LOVING MEMORY
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of James (Jim) Alfred Barnett. Jim passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the young age of 55.
Jim was a very loving and devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend.
James (Jim) was predeceased by his beloved father and “best friend” Theodore (Ted) and his brother Dennis.
He leaves behind his loving wife Kimberly of many years, mother Leslie, sister Teresa and brother Patrick (Ana). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his four-legged friends.
Jim lived a fulfilled life surrounded by the people and pets he loved. Jim was a very devoted hardworking man with every job he had. He worked at PowerVac Duct Cleaning for 20 plus years where he started off on residential and then worked his way up to commercial supervisor. His path changed course where he worked as a proud truck driver, driving a 5 ton truck for Canada Cartage of many years till present. He was contracted out to the W.R.H.A. Laundry Site where he delivered to many hospitals, nursing homes throughout the city. Also, to Stoney Mountain Penitentiary.
Jim had many hobbies. He was also Elvis Presley’s #1 fan. His favorite TV series was The Dukes of Hazard. You could find him watching the Blue Bomber’s and Jets games with family and friends.
Jim was a Jack of “ALL” trades. His biggest passion and knowledge in life was antique cars/trucks. He very much enjoyed owning some and working on them with his father back in the day. Jim was a shining light and the biggest star in our lives. His smile and laughter was adored by all the people that loved him. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed and forever loved in our hearts.
Kimberly would like to thank family and friends for all their love and support through this time of sorrow. Special thanks and we are grateful to his co-workers and paramedic team for their extra efforts.
