Obituary of Gregory Albert LaPointe
GREGORY LAPOINTE
Gregory Lapointe, born on May 25, 1963, in Winnipeg, Canada, passed away suddenly on April 4, 2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Gregory is survived by his children Krystle, Christopher, and Tim, and cherished as "Papa" by his grandchildren Cadence, Mackenzie, Crista, Trista, Jacob, Josh, David, Christian, Bryson, his mother Alexina, sisters Donna and Jeannie, sisters-in-law Lillian (Joe) and Jennie (Bob), brothers-in-law Marcel, Alex, Clifford, Fred as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
Gregory was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Marie, his sister Isabel Irene, his father Gordon, grandparents Clara and Joseph and Aunt Irene Isabel. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law Agnes, father-in-law William, sisters-in-law Ruth, Bernice, Margaret, Dorothy, Kathleen and brothers-in-law David, Donald, and Ben, nephews Clayton, BJ, Brandon and nieces Christine and Brandi.
Gregory dedicated 30 years of his life to his work as a welder within the City of Winnipeg and Brandon. He was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to his craft.
In his leisure time, Gregory found joy in watching movies, especially cheesy horror films, indulging in online games, and creating intricate works of art through his passion for beading.
Gregory's warmth, kindness, and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
A small service for family and friends will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
