LEO AMOS CARIBOU

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Leo Amos Caribou, born on April 19th 2001. Leo was tragically taken from us on May 14th 2024 at the young age of 23.

 

Leo will be lovingly missed by his children: Alianna Caribou-Mason, age 5 (mother, Paula Mason), Alessia Kowalenko-Caribou, age 4, and Leo Kowalenko-Caribou, age 1 (mother, Taylor Kowalenko); his parents: Mavis Lamirande and Leo Caribou; his sisters: Tanis Caribou, Nepiyastew Caribou, and Carolyn Caribou; his brothers: Tyler Pelletier, Tyrone Lamirande, Tyson Lamirande Allan Chartrand, and Joseph Caribou; his nephew: Justin Caribou, and many aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

 

Leo was predeceased by both sets of his grandparents: Jeremie & Caroline Caribou and Raymond Parent & Anette Flatfoot.

 

Leo was an exceptional father, son, partner, and friend who had a passion for the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and spending time around the bonfire. Leo loved spending time with his children more than anything in the world and he was a very proud father. Leo was a skilled carpenter, roofer, and labourer, and he always put in his best effort into his work. Leo was very brave and outgoing and he had the kindest heart. Leo was an amazing person who will forever be missed and will never leave our hearts. 

 

A wake service in memory of Leo will be held on Thursday May 23, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and the funeral service will be held on May 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will take place at Cropo Funeral Chapel located at 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Following the funeral service, Leo will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery.
