Obituary of LILIAN RUTH DOWBENKO
LILIAN DOWBENKO
(nee PALMER)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt Lilian Dowbenko on June 26, 2024 at the age of 103.
Mom was predeceased by her grandmother Mrs. E. Whitwell, parents John & Dorothy Palmer, brothers, Stanley and George, sister Ruth Wolf, aunt and uncle Dolly and Fred Whitwell, son John Mark Dowbenko, daughters Patricia Boyer, Sandra Dowbenko, Linda Dowbenko and Margaret Beasley.
She is survived by her son Dan, daughters, Connie Chartier and Lilian Kanski. Additionally, she leaves 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Mom Worked for T. Eaton Company from 1938 until her retirement in 1982. Mom enjoyed bowling, cards, bingo, travelling, carpet bowling and especially knitting all the scarfs, toques and slippers for everyone. She greatly enjoyed the card games and bingo nights at Carriage House.
The family would also like to acknowledge the kindness and care of Dr. Kevin Saunders for mom. Additionally, Head Nurse Tracy and staff on S2 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. They were simply wonderful in caring for mom.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave.
