Obituary of CARMINA DA SILVA
Carmina Da Silva passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg at the age of 102 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Joao in 1997. Carmina is lovingly remembered by her children, Duarte (Dina), Maria Moniz (Manuel), Iria Gravito (Durval), Jose (Debbie); grandchildren Debbie (Shane), Rodney (Suzy), Derek (Stacy), Kevin (Bonnie), Ryan (Teija), Jason (Liz), Lisa (Jason), John (Patti), Jamie (Katie), Allison, Clayton (Tahnee), David and her 17 great grandchildren.
Carmina was born in Faja de Cima, Sao Miguel, Azores on June 16, 1922. She immigrated to Canada in October 1961 with her young children to join her husband and son who were employed by CNR Railway.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren during many special family gatherings.
Carmina was generous, selfless and sacrificed much for her family over the years. She was well loved by many and will be greatly missed.
The family especially thanks the staff at Middlechurch Care Home in West St. Paul for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception RC Parish at 181 Austin St. North on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing half hour prior for 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow after luncheon at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.
Although our loss is great, she is in a better place and we look in hope to the day we will see her again. May the love she demonstrated live on in us. Descanse Em Paz – Rest in peace.
