Obituary of DONNA WYNNE LEMPEN
In the early morning of July 22, 2024, Donna left her pain behind, and for which her family is grateful.
Darla passed knowing she was loved by her family, her husband Jim, daughter Amber (Jordan), sons Michael and Nicholas (Nicole), brothers David (Leslie), Jeff, and sister Susan. Her grandchildren, Holland and Isaac were so loved by their Gramma Donna. She will be missed by her mother-in-law Irene Laing, Jim’s sister Carol Skrypnyk (Adrian), all her nieces and nephews, and their families.
Dar special talent was her kindness to all she met. Co-workers became life-long friends. Family. Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, second cousins, and their extended families all became family. Even neighbours became Aunty and Uncle. Growing up on Simpson Ave, with a pool in the back yard, friends were always welcome at The Sydorchuk’s. Elementary school and High School friends, Donna still had connections to those friends til the end.
Meeting Jim, dating, getting married and having children made Donna’s world whole. She loved her family with her whole heart. And, having a pool in their back yard made it a gathering spot for us all, again. Holidays to Vegas, Cuba, Phoenix, and of course the trips to Grand Forks and Fargo made for good times. The Grand Forks and Fargo trips were started with family trips with mom and dad. A favorite hotel stay being the Westward Hotel with the boot shaped pool, a much-loved memory.
Her different places of work over the years had also given people the chance to know Donna as we, her family did. A kind, loving, dedicated lady you wanted to know.
To be with Donna as she battled Cancer was difficult, but as family does, we were there. Her fight had many parts to it, and we all wondered why she had to carry so much. But being the angel that we know she was, and is, maybe she was carrying someone else’s burden for them.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on August 22,2024 at Holy Eucharist Parish Centre 460 Munroe Ave. from 1-4 p.m. This location holds a special memory, as it was where both Donna and Jim, and their son Nicholas and Nicole had their wedding receptions. Join us if you are able. Donna would like that.
