STANLEY PLAZA

Obituary of STANLEY FRANK PLAZA

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother and uncle Stanley (Stosh) Plaza on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Stan was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor (Panson), father Anthony Plaza, step father John Franczak, mother Mary Franczak, brothers-in-law Walter Semeniuk, Carl Panson, and Richard Panson.

Left to cherish his memory are sisters Rosemarie Semeniuk and Angela Gren (Stanley), sister-in-law Judith Panson. Nieces Lorrie Dyck (Paul), Lexa; nephews Tim Bahry, John Bahry, Adam Bahry, Mason Bahry, Jason Gren (Jill), Ryan Gren (Terri) Kyle, Kiera and Kailee, Jaime, Panson (Cathy) and Dustyn, Christian, Panson (Cindy) and Reese, Kevin and Kim Kruse, Matt (Nicole), Nick (Lindsey), Austin (Mercedes) and their families, friend Susan, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Stan was born on December 26, 1939 in Winnipeg. He worked for a number of years as a general contractor and because of those skills he went on to work at the Winnipeg Art Gallery until retirement. Not one to sit still he then gained employment as a doorman at Hampton Green until ill health finally made him retire for good. In his younger years, he loved to travel through the United States as there were many road trips him and Eleanor took with friends and family. Being the huge Elvis fan that he was of course one of those trips was to Graceland. He loved to dress up as Santa at Christmas for the kids and made many happy memories for all of us through the years. He loved to watch sports especially the Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was looking forward to watching the Labour Day Classic and Banjo Bowl. He was quick with a joke, fun to be around and he will be missed.

The family would like to thank River East Home Care for the care Stan received over the past few years.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with interment at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
