Obituary of JUDITH LYNNE DEERING
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Lynne Deering (nee Horn) on September 8,2024 at the age of 79.
Judy passed away peacefully at home with family by her side.
Mom was predeceased by our dad Laurence Deering on March 1st, 2001, her parents Irene and Tom, brother Brian, brother-in-law Ron, sister-in-law Paulette, and son in law Colin.
Mom is lovingly remembered and leaves to mourn her daughters Laura and Cheryl (Dennis), grandchildren Stefani (Tyler), Cole (Brooklyn) Morgan (Avery) Hailyn (Dawson) and Corbin. Great grandchildren Hadley, Skylyn and Rylee. Mom was the absolute best nana. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she loved them all so very much.
She also leaves to mourn her sisters Janet, Diane (Eugene) and brother Kevin and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg and married Dad on March 18, 1967.
She worked at Salisbury Morse Place school as an EA for almost 30 years, retiring in November 2008. She made many friends during this time, and especially loved her “Sals Gals”.
Mom had a love for dragonflies which made it easy to buy for her on any occasion. She also loved to read, bake and knit.
Mom was always very welcoming to anyone that came to visit. She treated all of our friends like they were her own and would cook and bake for everyone all the time. She made the absolute best banana bread. She also loved to walk and shop with her besties Christa (Laura’s mother-in-law) and Erika who will miss her dearly on their weekly excursions.
At mom’s request there will be a private family service at a later date.
If friends so desire donations may be made in Judy’s honour to Cancer Care Manitoba.
