Obituary of PATRICIA LYNN SWEET (NEE. HUTCHEON)
PATRICIA “PAT” LYNN SWEET
(NEE HUTCHEON)
Patricia passed away peacefully, with family by her side on September 14, 2024 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 74.
She was predeceased by her parents David Hutcheon and Erna Stinson, her daughter Donna Young, her brothers Donald and Kenneth Hutcheon and sister-in-law Jeanne Hutcheon.
Pat is lovingly remembered by her husband Ian Sweet, children Lorna Young Rudolph, Dennis Young and David Young; grandchildren Paul, Nathan and Brody. She also leaves her brother Randal Hutcheon, nieces Rose Ramm and great nephew Wyatt Ramm.
Pat was born in Winnipeg, living most of her life in Transcona. Growing up she was the only girl in a family of boys. Having 3 brothers wasn’t always easy, though throughout her life she remained close to all of them.
She had 4 children, whom she loved dearly and were the light of her life. When her children were still small she met the love of her life, Ian. They were married and raised the four children together.
To Ian, Pat was his wife, his partner and the best part of his life.
Pat had several jobs over the years; Walter Woods, Crossing Guard, Transcona Bakery, News Paper Delivery and her favourite, canteen operator for Ecole Regent Park and John W. Gunn schools.
In her late years she loved Bingo, watching Hudson and Rex and visiting friends and family.
The family especially thanks the staff at Riverview Health Centre.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street with Rose Ramm officiating. Interment will follow at Transcona Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Riverview Health Centre.
