Obituary of BEBI HALIMA SALAM
BEBI HALIMA SALAM
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bebi Halima Salam, on September 28, 2024. She is survived by her children Bebi (Abe), Moe (Zinnie), Patricia, Janet, Kam, Naz (Malika), and Zaleena, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Halima was an affectionate and caring mother and grandmother, always willing to help anyone in need. Her legacy will live on for generations to come, forever inspiring those who were touched by her spirit.
Bebi Halima Najir was born in Dekindren, Guyana, on October 13,1933. She married the love of her life, Abdool Salam, in 1950. Together, they immigrated to Winnipeg in 1979 to join their family and made a home full of love. Halima was known for her compassionate nature, giving spirit and witty sense of humour. Over many years of caring for children, including her own grandchildren, she made a difference in many young lives. For Halima and her beloved husband Abdool, family was the greatest joy and they were both happiest when surrounded by the noise of a full house. Though we mourn her loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is finally reunited with her husband and siblings in Heaven.
