Obituary of DOROTHY GAYE EDWARDS
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Dorothy Gaye Edwards (Dixon) April 3, 1942 - October 11, 2024.
Dorothy was pre-deceased by her parents Allison & Dorothy Dixon, son Donald Scott Edwards, her husband Robert Kenneth Edwards and her fur babies Buddy & Brutus.
Dorothy is survived by her children Tom (Linda) Edwards, Jennifer (Rick) Smith, Stacey Adams; Her grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer), Kyle (Samantha), Nikki (Shawn), Brady (Teagan), Kendra (Cody), Kayla (Dan), Ashley (Justin) and her 9 great grandchildren.
Dorothy and her husband lived in Alberta and Europe, then came to Winnipeg in 1968 where they settled in East Kildonan. They then followed their children to Transcona where they retired where they enjoyed many years with their family and loved ones.
Dorothy’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy worked for many years with MPI. She was very active with her church in Transcona where she made many lifelong friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament, 710 Roanoke Street, Winnipeg.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
