I want to send my sympathies to the Mayer family. I am sorry that I could not be there, really wish I could. I am thinking of all of you and praying for Aunt Dode. I am remembering our visit with Great Aunt last summer. She was a very special lady and really knew how to stand her ground and that's what I loved about her. I remember wanting to help her get into my truck when we went to visit Cory and the family and she told me to leave her alone that she could do it, at that point I just thought, "well, how stubborn", but when I told my mom what happened, she had told me that Aunt Dode was like that, apparantly it was called the "Foster Stubborness", so after that I wasn't too offended anymore. If it wasn't for Aunt Dode I probably wouldn't even know the rest of the family except through stories. I didn't even get to meet the Mayer family or boys, for that matter, until my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, but we were all still young, I couldn't remeber them, so when Cory got married, we met up again. She always explained how we were related and knew exactly who was who. My children very much enjoyed their visit with their Great, Great Aunt and my husband enjoyed the stories of her army days. I'm going to miss you Aunt Dode and we love you. Shannon, Vince, Morgyn and Mattias.
