ANNEMARIE ULRICH

Obituary of ANNEMARIE EMMY ULRICH

Annemarie Ulrich was called home to her Heavenly Father peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

She was born to Anna and Julius Prestin on April 28, 1932 in Schoenberg, Germany. She was the fourth of five daughters. She met her husband, Hans, in her third year at agricultural school and she took him home to meet her family. Dad’s family decided to escape from East Germany in 1953 and mom followed him to Canada knowing that she would likely never see her parents again. She saw her sisters for the first time after 19 years. She was always grateful for the opportunity to immigrate to Canada and our dad’s family became her family.

Annemarie is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Hans, children Peter, Karen (Mike), Viola (Rod), Armin (Joy), son-in-law Robert (Joyce), 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one sister. She was predeceased by three sisters and their husbands, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, daughter Doris and grandchildren and great grandchildren whose eyes first opened in heaven.

She was a woman of great faith, devoted to her husband and family. She was an active member at Rowandale Baptist Church and for a number of years the President of the Ladies Auxiliary at Meadowood Manor.

The family especially thank Tira and her health care team at Access Transcona, staff and residents at Devonshire House and long-time family friend Wolfgang Tiegs.
